Through lecture and discussion participants will issues related to the identification and treatment of male sexual abuse.
- Participants will learn about the incident and patterns of the sexual abuse of men and boys.
- Participants will gain and understanding of how sexual abuse effects the development of male identity.
- To sensitize mental health clinicians to the important differences in male socialization that strongly effect men and boys’ responses to subsequent sexual trauma.
- Participants will explore treatment issues specific to sexual abuse of men and boys.

For over forty years, Joe has been a counselor and psychotherapist in many different settings dealing Mental Health and Chemical Dependency problems. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Joe has utilized and provided training for professionals in several different therapeutic approaches. In addition, he has researched, consulted, and published in the areas program evaluation, and the outcomes of counseling. In 1995, Joe received the Humanitarian Services Award from the EMDR Network and in 2003, Joe was named Counselor of the Year by the Oklahoma Counseling Association.
