ODAPCA Call for Presenters

You are invited to submit a proposal to share your experience and expertise with colleagues in the behavioral health profession at the 2018 ODAPCA Spring Conference. Others will benefit from your experience while you make a valuable contribution to the profession. Our goal is for people to experience educational, informative, inspirational, and entertaining professional development.

Goals of the ODAPCA Conference and Educational Programs

1. Provide useful information and training about current research and best practices in the field of substance abuse, prevention, mental health, criminal justice, education, health care, research, business, faith communities, social services, and government.
2. Provide networking opportunities
3. Create a sense of community among people in the behavioral health field

Selection Criteria

1. Clarity of Submission
2. Value of Session Objectives
3. Appeal to Conference Attendees
4. Consistency with ODAPCA’s Mission
5. Relevance to Target Audience
6. Level of Participant Involvement
7. Contribution of New Ideas and Practices
8. Application to the field of substance abuse of co-occurring disorders

Important Information for Presenters

- Plenary session (keynote) speakers will be invited.
- Most communication with the speakers and presenters committee and office will be done by email. Please ensure that we have your current email address at all times.
- Deadlines will be specified for power point submission.
- All handout materials must be submitted in digital format and will be posted on our website. (presenters are responsible for all printed handouts-if desired).
- Presenter pages will be linked to the program schedule on the ODAPCA website.
- A conflict of interest statement must be signed
- If you have any items that you are planning to sell you must purchase a Vendor Table (see vendor registration)


*Each session will last 90 minutes, and we encourage you to leave time at the end for questions.
*Because of space constraints, all sessions are in rooms set theater style/classroom for maximum occupancy as deemed by the facility and in accordance with local fire safety codes.
*Presenters should anticipate an audience size of approximately 20 to 70 people per session (more in some cases), and should design their presentation approaches with the facility logistics in mind.
*Please note that we are unable to modify or alter seating arrangements/set-ups for individual sessions.
*Rooms are equipped with standardized audio-visual: projection unit/screen and a microphone; any other A/V needs are arranged for by the presenter.
*All you will need is to have your presentation on a thumb drive.

Benefits of Speaking

• ODAPCA provides a powerful platform to network with 700+ Behavioral Health professionals and to share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices in the field of behavioral health. As a not-for-profit entity, ODAPCA does not provide speaking fees. In exchange, we offer presenters the following:
• Complementary conference registration including access to all events
• Valuable experience presenting at one of the best and longest conferences in the state of Oklahoma
• Networking opportunities with and visibility to 700+ behavioral health professionals

To All Potential Presenters

We would like to thanks you for your desire to present in an ODAPCA sponsored event. Below you will find ODAPCA’s presenter application template, please follow the format and use this as a guide when submitting your request to present.

Each submitted application will be reviewed by ODAPCA’s speaker and presenter committee to determine which applications will be accepted. If your application is accepted then you will be contacted by ODAPCA and given details of the venue, date and time of your presentation and general presenter responsibilities. If you have any questions prior to being contacted you may call ODAPCA at 405-793-1545 for more information.
